The UK’s No.1 Rated WordPress Provider – Reviews, Ratings and Everything in between!

As an ex web design and development company, our clients often asked us about “what is the best WordPress hosting company in the UK” – and as time went on, we got more specific questions such as “can WordPress run on Windows servers” and so on.

It is an important question as you need a host that is not only fast and keeps their server up-time to reasonable levels, but also secures your data and website and prevent it from being hacked.

The problem is, many hosts say they are WordPress ready, but are they really specializing in WordPress? are their servers optimized to run WordPress in the most ideal way possible without having any script failures?

And if so, are the reviews for them 100% good? and if so, is it from a legitimate website that actually provides real reviews which are monitored? or a site that can be abused by companies to increase their overall rating as a WordPress company?

These are the questions we looked at, when deciding our recommended host to use WordPress on, and we always have the same host ourselves (via iClickster) who has been around for years and has been providing us excellent services on hosting unlimited WordPress website.

Is one-click WordPress hosting all that you need to look out for when choosing the package for you?

Many people think this is all that you need to look out for – but this is far from the truth. There are specific requirements within the server, which need to be done, and just a one-click install advert on a hosts website is not what should make you buy, as this is done by every host, even windows hosting providers, and we know, wordpress cannot run very well on windows servers, so buying from them is not a good plan.

Sometimes you need to test the host out before you are sure they are ideal. For example, the company Justhost are known to advertise for their WordPress hosting plans; but when you install on their server, their is a URL problem you get which many people easily ignore simply because they don’t see it as a big issue. The URL shows as www.yourdomain.com/index.html – the extra index.html part on the home page shows up, even if you just enter www.yourdomain.com – and this is not great when you are trying to keep a neat and clean image of your website, but not only that, its not SEO friendly (Search engine optimization).

So the next time you do go look for a hosting based in WordPress, think about the above points, and you will be safer and wiser.

I agree, iClickster rules the hosting world for me. more features, better prices than anyone else out there.

Hostgator is okay, ive used them for a while, but just too expensive compared to the others.

I like the way you checked for reviews as secondary research, very good.

Yeah being ready to run wordpress requires a few server requirements as well as the one click installation that allows you to install on root directory, not just a separate directory.

Probably are the top wordpress companies; i have been with my hosting company for around 4 years and have never really looked back on trying other hosts. I do understand people wanting to try new hosts because of IP address being unique especially for optimization purposes, but this makes no sense to me as iclickster provides this for me for free, altho for some reason they dont advertise it on their website, probably because it will attract the blackhat people.

Anyway, WordPress has been the number one content management system for a while, so we just need to learn our server requirements before we select the host.

I agree with you Ray, I think the new comers to WordPress are the ones that aren’t sure what kind of requirements WordPress environment needs in a server.

Yes, arguably it is a top content management system, altho it started off as only a blogging platform.

I think it depends on what your requirements are from the host. If you want to run an ecommerce company via online, than you need more features like SSL at the minimum, and perhaps other tools for viewing sales statistics.

But if it comes to wordpress based ecommerce sites, i guess the plugins can add the same features as lng as its a linux based environment, which btw, does not need you to have linux operating system on your computer, even a windows desktop computer can manage a linux hosted platform.
